Grappling

Our Grappling program is built from four martial arts.

Judo: Is a Japanese martial art and Olympic sport. It was created 1882, by Jigoro Kano for self-defense, sport and personal growth. Judo focuses on throwing, pinning, and submitting your opponent.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ): Is a Brazilian martial art developed by the Gracie family who were taught by the famed Japanese Judoka and Catch Wrestler champion Mitsuyo Maeda. BJJ focuses on defeating your opponent on the ground with joint locks and chokes.

Combat Submission Wrestling: Is a martial art that is practiced in some form throughout the world. It focuses on using wrestling to take your opponent to the ground and uses pins, joint locks and chokes to defeat one’s opponent.

Japanese Jujutsu: Is the martial art of the Japanese samurai. It focuses on using an opponent energy against them to get pins, joint locks and throws.

We have structured our class progression to give our students the most effective and efficient path to mastering these Grappling arts together. Five Crow is a certified training center for all four martial arts separately.
